What is the product idea score?
What is the product idea score?

What is the star rating? How should I use the idea score? Do I want a 5 star product or a 1 star product? How is the score calculated

Updated over 6 years ago

The product idea score is a summation of the results generated by a search done in one of our sourcing tools. It takes a large number of variables into account including possible monthly sales, reviews needed to sell well, sales patterns, fluctuations in price, and Amazon's presence in the market. Each score rates the product on a scale of 1-5 stars. 5 stars being the best and 1 star being the worst.

This is a good way to quickly decide if you should further research a product, but it shouldn't be the only metric used. Consider all possible costs, sales trends, and inventory restrictions when deciding what to source as well.
